Muji: Where’s the pain?

by Gagan Diesh

Tom has been naughty and not started this thread that we talked about. So here I go, I will start it with some of my pet pains w.r.t interior design and space. Muji team (and others) please add to this thread with comments about your pain that we could try and solve. We want to have a nice long list to look at on Thursday when we meet. Also remember that we want to bring items, ideas, magazine clippings, sketches, photos–anything that will help us create a Muji store on Thursday (bring anything that you belive would ‘fit’ within a Muji store in terms of look and feel)

My Pains:

  • I subscribe to a few magazines. I like keeping back issues and as a result, am fast running out of space to store them. Presently I have stacks of them and also put them in these type of file storage containers:
    File storage containers
  • I have three pets, and so am limited to buying things that won’t be fur-bunny collectors. I regret buying a dark wood cabinet with low shelves and cubicles for example!
  • Papers everywhere! My office has a lot of paper! Storage and retrieval seem to be at odds with each other (if I store it, I can’t find it)

Hmm…problems? Here are a couple that are grinding me gears at the moment (that’s right, holla at ya Peter Griffin!)

    1) Massive mess of cords! I just added live instruments to my digi studio and its like medusa herself is behind my desk. If only I had a mirror.

    2) I could really use some nice, attractive but discrete (sp???) wall storage. I’m not talking about shelves, but more like hooks, clasps, maybe shelves. Something to deal with my computer mess.

There will be more. You just have to wait till something else cause me to stub a toe or something.
