by Clarence Lee

Designer For America

Sunlight Labs announced their latest contest — “Design for America.” This 10 week long design and data visualization extravaganza is focused on connecting the talents of art and design communities throughout the country to the wealth of government data now available through bulk data access and APIs, and to help nurture the field of information visualization. The objective for this competition is simple and straightforward — to make government data more accessible and comprehensible to the American public. They hope to enliven and engage new communities.

Compete in 3 main category: Data Visualization, Process Transparency & Redesigning the Government. With a few exceptions, anyone over the age of 18 that is eligible to fill out a 1099 tax form is eligible to enter and win this contest. As we are including our grantees and partners in this contests, so those that have actually worked as contractors, employees, or in any other capacity on those sites should not compete in that specific contest.

VeEr FacEs!

by Ana Karen Abitia Hill
Hey guys! Long time without blogging. Well I have been busy working at several projects here in the studio. I just finished a logo that I loved, it is so retro style. But I will post this later.

Now I wanted to share this website application with the well known site VEER. It is so cool, I spend around an hour playing this at work, so funny!
Make your face is a new kind of game that veers offers in the web, you can create faces with so many options, from serious to super cool ones.

Hope you enjoy it as I did.

Impress touch display

by Jamie Peterson
I have seen a lot of touch screen stuff but this one interested me because it offers an interesting solution (?) to one of my main complaints with touch screen setups: the lack of a tactile sensation. As you can see it is a bit rough but for a demo I thought it was cool. http://www.silkehilsing.de/impress
